Dear Professor Lamb:

I recommend that Brennen’s letter be not published, as it is of insufficient importance. Without reading the second page of this paper nor referring to any book, I derived his formula by elementary methods in a few minutes (20 minutes). I believe that any one who had need for the formula could derive it more easily than he could find it in the literature if published.
