John H. Gallagher, Sr. Photograph Collection, 1898-1961

Scope and Content Note

The collection includes a number of images documenting day-to-day life in Oregon during the late 1800s and early 1900s. While most of the images are set in the Corvallis area, images taken in Clatskanie and Arlington, Oregon are also included. The collection also features a series of photographs taken in 1961 and depicting University President August L. Strand, Governor Mark O. Hatfield and others participating in ceremonies marking the transformation of Oregon State College into Oregon State University.

Certain images were either photographed or collected by Jim Strange of Otis, Oregon.
