Dear Mrs. Priest:
In answer to your letter, I would say that in my address in London I mentioned orange juice, but talked mainly about Vitamin C.
We have found that the Vitamin-C level in cigarette smokers is lower than that in non-smokers, when they are ingesting the same amount of the vitamin.
I think that everyone should take a good amount of Vitamin C. I myself take three grams per day. I do not think that you are allergic to Vitamin C. The allergy to orange juice that you mention must relate to some other substance in the juice.
I suggest that you and your husband should take pure crystalline Vitamin C, rather than orange juice.
Sincerely,
Linus Pauling
