Dear Mr. Dyke:
I think that the newspaper that you read did not reflect my statement accurately. I happened to discuss cigarette smoking and Vitamin C in the same lecture. I enclose a copy of my paper on cigarette smoking, and also the paper in which I discuss ascorbic acid. I also referred to a paper by Katz and collaborators, who showed that school children with a low level of ascorbic acid in the blood showed an increase in I.Q., whereas those with a high level did not when orange juice was added to their diet.
