- Letter from Dr. Robert B. Corey, Gates and Crellin Laboratories, Caltech, to George Strauss, Division of Leather Technology, Lehigh University, RE: Responds to Strauss' letter in LP's absence. The three-chain helical structure for collagen which LP and Corey proposed in 1951 is no longer considered to be correct by either LP or Corey. The objections to this structure were summarized in LP's "Les Proteines." Gives an excerpt. Structures for collagen proposed by Bear, Crick, and Randall, have also been repudiated by their authors. The structure of native collagen is still uncertain. [Filed under LP Correspondence: (S: Correspondence, 1953-1956), #379.3]
