Memorandum from Linus Pauling to Jesse DuMond. May 15, 1950Pauling writes of his interest in the use of low angle x-ray diffraction in his studies of the structural characteristics of alloys. He summarizes his research and comments that such an apparatus as described in DuMond's Scientific Instruments article would most likely be quite useful in his further research. He ends by saying that his lab does not currently have funds in the budget for such a purchase but they would like to purchase one in the next couple of years. View Transcript
