Letter from Linus Pauling to the Caltech Executive Council. November 16, 1934Pauling writes that he has learned that the Rockefeller Foundation will not provide funding for further work in molecular structure, but may support research on substances of biological importance. Pauling requests that Caltech provide him with $5,000 per year for three years with the understanding that he will apply for $10,000 per year for the same three year period from the Rockefeller Foundation.
