Letter from Linus Pauling to Joshua Lederberg. January 4, 1956Pauling belatedly responds to a letter by Professor Lederberg in regards to molecular crystallization. He informs Lederberg that molecules crystallize in structures that will yield the highest intermolecular attraction. Pauling also discusses crystalline packing of two different molecules versus individual molecules packing with themselves. He ends his letter by saying that mixed crystalline structures will only form between substances with similar size and shape. View TranscriptID: corr215.1-lp-lederberg-19560104 |
