Letter from Linus Pauling to Leonard Hamilton. December 27, 1955Pauling writes that X-ray investigation of 6-mercaptopurine has been carried out by Dr. K. Hoogsteen and encloses a copy of his report. Pauling discusses the unit cell for the molecule, and states that it wouldn't be wise to make a complete structure determination for it. Dr. Hoogsteen will write a short note to be published in Acta Crystallographica. Pauling concludes by apologizing that the crystal is poorly-suited to a complete analysis by x-ray.
