Letter from Linus Pauling to C.F. Shoop. August 19, 1954Pauling writes concerning Shoop's article for the Pasadena Star-News about Reed College. Pauling feels that Shoop is incorrect in identifying Reed as "one of the better type of schools for higher education in the Northwest" as Pauling feels it is one of the best in the country and provides his evidence for regarding it as such.
