developments in a dark world.

Your campaign of public enlightenment should first be concentrated on our government officials. The speeches of some congressmen and senators display appalling ignorance of the critical situation. The recent inexcusable back-down by Truman and Marshall after Molatov's unexpected acceptance of the State Department's proposal to negotiate, is proof of their indifference and their incompetence in a world crisis.

Would not your Committee, in this critical situation, be justified in an attempt to convince the President and Marshall that it is their solumn duty to the people of this country and the world, to grasp this great moment of history and prevent universal catastrophe?

Of course I will contribute something now, and more later to the work your group is doing. I have contributed to the Wallace campaign, which I consider an important allied force directed toward the common goal.

I would appreciate a reply from you to this letter.
