Blinding Effects of Atom Blast Test, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dublin Core

Title

Blinding Effects of Atom Blast Test, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Description

"Volunteer Air Force observers man their posts at specially designed and coated windows in a U.S.A.F. transport type plane to look at an atomic burst in a previous test at the AEC Proving Grounds in Nevada, where a blast is slated to be set off on March 17th. The observers were tested to determine the blinding effects of atomic blast flashes on the human eye. In the foreground are flash-blindness recorders, which were devised to furnish information on visual acuity and other related medical effects from watching the initial, intense light during an atomic detonation."
