The History of Atomic Energy Collection comprises one of the nation's largest resources for the study of the nuclear age. Boasting more than three-thousand primary and secondary documents, photographs, and memorabilia, the collection serves as a valuable resource for researchers interested in American science and culture during the 20th century.
Due to the size and complexity of the archive, the OSU Special Collections staff has created a Learning Curriculum structured around Leif Laudamus’ original fifteen-section organization. Each section is represented by a brief explanatory history of the subject and is illustrated with images of texts and items from the collection. The narrative pages are accompanied by detailed footnotes referencing related source materials from the collection. The Learning Curriculum, though directly representing only a fraction of the collection, is meant to both serve as an introduction to the history of atomic energy and to promote further exploration of the rich holdings within the archive.
