Partial Transcript: Where did you grow up?

Segment Synopsis: Betty was born in 1948 in a family of 10. She describes her childhood very fondly.

Partial Transcript: Where did you attend High School?

Segment Synopsis: Betty attended Woodrow Wilson High School in southwest Portland where she didn’t know any other students. She was voted Prom Queen, was on the Dance Team, and was very involved in her activities.

Partial Transcript: What was your College Experience like?

Segment Synopsis: Betty Attended Oregon State University in 1966 as a married woman. She was heavily involved in student council and in Greek life.

Partial Transcript: Did you ever feel discriminated against as a woman in your field?

Segment Synopsis: Betty faced many firsts. She was the first Female Budget Analyst, the First female on many boards, and the first student on a State Board.

Partial Transcript: What are you involved in now that you are retired?

Segment Synopsis: Betty was still involved during her retirement. She was on many boards and remained involved in Education, where she served on the Oregon State Honors College Board of Regents.
