Dear Dr.Einstein,
Some time ago I received a telegram from you requesting aid to your Committee in its fight to save the world from "unparalled catastrophy." My silence has not meant indifference to your appeal. As my own contribution is small, though large in proportion to my income, I am trying to do my bit to involve other people and organizations in the job of changing our modes of thinking". I have made a strong plea to the newly formed Congress of American Women, through certain members of its Board of Directors, and shall continue to stress the URGENCY of your cause. I believe it may be a valuable means of bringing information to the many affiliated organizations thro' out our country.
Also I have sent a copy of your telegram to the Twentieth Century Club in Pittsburgh, through one of its members, and I am giving copies of your telegram (which has been mimeographed for the purpose) to individuals.
The enclosed check from Ben Kohn, with the accompaning note speaks for itself and should be acknowledged by your organization if you please. The dollar was thrust into my hands by Mrs. Rose F. Stein , who overheard me talking about your moving plea. Will you please ask your sec'y to acknowledge that too as I am not personally known to her.
My own check for $50. is enclosed.
