EMERGENCY COMMITTEE OF ATOMIC SCIENTISTS, Inc. Room 28 90 Nassau Street
Princeton, N.J.
Gentlemen:
Thank you for your letter of April 30, appealing for contributions to finance the campaign of education to ensure that atomic energy will be used for the benefit of mankind.... I sincerely regret that I cannot contribute more than the enclosed. If possible, I would be glad to give $1,000 towards this urgent need.
Those of us who are engaged in almost any aspect of education, have times, I believe, when we are impressed with the seeming futility of much of the material now included in our formal education in this country. I know, that, personally, that I am daily impressed with that fact, and I am therefore glad to do what I can personally, and in my capacity of librarian of a small denominational college to help your cause. I shall post your letter and the enclosurers it contained on our bulletin board, and would welcome aiditional copies of ONLY THEN SHALL WE FIND COURAGE, and any other material that you thikn would be of interest to our faculty and students.
Cordially yours, James W. Pugsley Librarian
