REGINALD H. PARSONS SEATTLE, I, WASHINGTON
2300-6 Northern Life Tower
June Nineteenth 1 9 4 6
Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists,
90 Nassau Street, Princeton, N. J.
Gentlemen:-
Attention - Mr. Albert Einstein, Chairman
Your letter of the 15th inst. with attached copy of telegram received.
I note your desire to raise $200,000 for your program of public education to awaken America to the realization that the whole future of mankind is now at stake. This is most important. The feeling of responsibility on the part of these scientists who have brought this creature into the world can be easily understood, and I would be very glad to help them to put this matter out to the public in a way to alleviate some of its extreme fears, and point the way to the use of this power for good rather than evil.
Therefore, please find my check for $100 enclosed.
I sincerely hope you will be successful in this undertaking.
Very truly yours, Reginald H. Parsons.
