Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists

Gentlemen;

   It is with pleasure that I enclose $3 toward your fund. I consider it an opportunity and an outlet for the desire to serve to be able to help you and am grateful that you men have started this work of education.
   I like Einstein's article "Only then shall we find courage." I can distribute 50 copies. Or would you prefer to have a list of names so you can enclose the subscription blank?
   It occurs to me that various groups of progressive citizens might like to assist in distributing educational literature.
   I am thinking of the Cooperatives and The Leagues of Women Voters, The Federation of Churches, the YWCA and such. Have you thought of this and have you approached them.
  I am on the educational committee of the Consumers Cooperative of Westfield N.J. and will glad to bring this up at our meeting on April 2nd. I would like to hear from you before then on the approach you would like made. Do you want mailing lists or do you want assistance in mailing literature?
  You might make the approach to the Eastern Cooperative area thru the Educational Director, Robert Smith, Eastern Cooperative League, 44 West 143 St. N.Y.C.
   We have 500 Co-op members in Westfield.
   We have a United Nations Association of Westfield who hold an annual meeting thru the cooperation of all the organizations in town. They are looking for a speaker for the next meeting. I suggested Mr Urey, but I am not on the committee and do not know what they are doing.
   Also the Co-op Educational Committee has decided to put on one good lecture meeting a year. I would be in favor of some one from your group. Our funds limit us to around $75 for a speaker at present. We hope to have more money later.
   Please let me know how I can cooperate and give me as much information as you can about your plans and availability of speakers.
   I am deeply aware of the importance of your endeavor.
   Sincerely
     Clarence Muller
