Dr. Albert Einstein & Sirs:
Your letter arrived today and, noting the return address, I opened it with the fervent hope it would an-nounce the organization of a|group of authoritative and influential individuals whose views were similar to mine, and also would inform me of how I could help in their effort. For you see, I too have felt that the great prob-lem of our time is the control of atomic enrgy, and whose solution can be found only in complete revision of our present mode of thinking; a revision which would lead to the establishment of government by Law on the world-wide level. This is a time from reason, and the only possible answer lies in a true world State, devoid of fear and dis-trust and thus free of war. The key to achieving these aims is, of course, enlightenment of the people of the world. We must make them realize there is but one road to take; cure the incredible lack of interest in their own future; make the think. Only their insistent demand for action can bring our hopes to fruition. The choice is simple: to live or to die; and we have no time to lose.
