September 29, 1947 Mr. and Mrs. George W. W. Brewster 53 Sargent Crossway Brookline 46, Massachusetts Dear Mr. and Mrs. Brewster: I have receive with much pleasure your generous answer to my letter enclosing the recent Statement of the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists on the critical necessity for effective international control of atomic energy. Thank you for your continued help in our campaign to arouse the American people to an understanding of the present very serious situation. An article by Cord Meyer in a recent issue of the Atlantic Monthly develops further some of the topics on which our Statement touched. If you have not seen Mr. Meyer's article, I think you will be interested in the enclosed reprint. My colleagues join me in warm thanks for your renewed support and endorsement of the work we have undertaken. With cordial greetings, Faithfully yours, AE:ef
