Dear Dr. Einstein: This check is small but enclosed with it is an idea to help raise money for the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists. With your permission I request that you endorse the check personally. I will sell the cancelled check, which will become valuable by virtue of your signature and the purpose of the committee. The proceeds of the sale of the check will again be remitted to you for the committee so that the procedure may be repeated.
