Dr. Albert Einstein, Chairman Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists, 90 Nassau Street Princeton, N.J.
Dear Dr. Einstein:-
I want to tell you how happy I was to have been on your mailing list and I hope that your Committee will be able to accomplish its purpose. I had read in several of the magazines about it.
I am speaking to Church congregations every Sunday and to individuals and groups during the week on the subject, "Christian Leadership for the Atomic Era," and I trust that I am doing my share to help carry out the work of your Committee.
I am sorry that I am not in the moneyed class and not able to make a large gift to help you in your work. However, I am enclosing my check for $5,00. I wish it could be $5,000.
Very sincerely yours, [signature] Arthur E. Elliott Assistant to the President
