Leland Stowe 17 Beechmont avenue Broxville, New York

Nov. 18, 1946

Dear Sir;

I am sending you under separate cover a copy of Leland Stowe's "While Time Remains". When you have read it, if you already have not done so, I think you will agree with me that it can be of help to you in your educational program that you are establishing to teach the people the meaning of atomic energy. Mr. Stowe has already helped throught the atomic committee in Washington last winter and spring having done some lecturing in various parts of the country and at Oak Ridge.

As Mr. Stowe is away in Europe-and has been since June-and will not be home for several weeks, I am taking the liberty of writing you and putting the book before you. It has been reviewed very favourable throughout the country, and individual response has been very enthusiastic-tho I think many more people can have it drawn to their attention and benefit by it. One scientist who had worked for five years at intense wartime research wrote "I just want you to know that you have inspired me to keep on in a difficult and often discouraging job and that you have made a big contribution to my thinking."

Foegive me for bothering you. but I think that "While Time Remains" has a place in your program.

Sincerely,

Rueh B. {Storren?}
