Professor Albert Einstein Chairman Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists Princeton, New Jersey

Dear Professor Einstein:

I am in receipt of your letter of February 10, 1947 for which I thank you.

I fully appreciate the tremendous importance of the issues you raise, having been a student of physical science myself and being active at present in the United Nations.

I am enclosing a very small contribution to your cause which is only an humble token of my sharing in your faith. But please do count on me not so much from the point of view of material support, which unfortunately I am not in a position to make sufficiently weighty, but rather from the point of view of doing my utmost to help further the idea that only reason and good will and mutual trust can save civilization from its impending fate.

With my best wishes for the success of your endeavors, I am

Sincerely yours, (signature) Charles Malik Minister
