3 Mrs. M.B Bingham Nazareth developed, in a God who is beneficent. The vogue of Catholicism comes chiefly from the honor paid womankind thro Mary, whom they re-gard as the Mother of God. But as for me I will take this higher & later view, that God & Science are very closely connected Man is placed under nature's laws & left to his own devices. Nature has typhoons, tornadoes, & earthquakes. But man can forecast & escape them if he learns how. The Chinese for thousands of years devoted to [ancestor] worship, [illegible] chil-dren & did not learn, as Herder says. Nature lets it stay so till they do, Nature makes beasts that devour each other. The lion has inch-long spikes in his tongue that draw blood which is his food. Hist stomach
