December 6, 1947 611 Hunter Rd. Glenview, Ill. Mr. Albert Einstein: Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists 90 Nassau St. Princeton, N.J. My dear Mr. Einstein: Pardon the writing paper, but I have just been composing a letter to one of the members of the Common Cause publication - relative to your recent statement: "Atomic War or Peace". I thought it was splendid and want to order about 50 copies - if they are available in that quantity at this time. Enclosed please find my check to forward to your campaign. I would like to make it larger but I am giving to my church which I hope will pioneer in international education and by means of some "cash" I hope to "buy" my point of view into the slow moving body of religious folk. Surely the Christian church could lead in this issue - now before lines become sharply drawn between left and right. In England they say the only opposition is indifference and disbelief. $hall await eagerly your sending the copies of the statement, "Atomic WAr or Peace". Yours cordially, Louise Barry Mrs. Scammon Barry
