Born in Germany in 1939, Walter Scheurle was a brewmaster for Pittsburg Brewing Company, Sam Adams Boston Lager, and Blitz-Weinhard Brewing Company; he also consulted for many of Oregon’s early microbrewers. In his interview, Scheurle notes that he was born in Germany in 1939, and he talks about his family’s brewing business, the impact of World War II, and his immigration to the United States.
