An early Hebrew manuscript, which relates the story of Esther as it appears in Rabbinical literature.
The authorship has never been definitely determined but it is believed to be of late origin in Rabbinical literature. The Jews of the first and second centuries question its right to be included among the canonical books of the Bible. The Authority of the book of Esther as a historical record has been rejected but it is read each year in the synagogue when the Feast of Purim is celebrated.
