The Structure of Complicated Molecules. (0:52)
Transcript
Linus Pauling: Like many other scientists, I have been interested recently - for a number of years,
in fact - in the question of the molecular structure of the human body, the molecular
structure of human beings. You know we know a good bit about the structure of simple
molecules. Now the time has come that we can learn something about the structure
of complicated molecules too. The human body contains many kinds of molecules such
as the water molecule, H2O, with only three atoms in it, also many very complicated
molecules, among which are the proteins. We don’t know much about proteins yet but
we know more than we knew five years ago, or ten years ago, and as the years go by
we shall learn much more.
