Letter from Warren Weaver to Linus Pauling. September 21, 1944.
Weaver writes to convey the interest of the Rockefeller Foundation in Pauling's proposal for a large post-war program of research on the structure of proteins. Weaver does, however, admit to being rather skeptical of the scale of Pauling's idea, particularly as concerns his presumption of a widespread availability of trained scientific assistants.
