19th March, 1937
Dear Pauling,
I was delighted to hear from you and to learn that I shall probably be able to arrange
my visits so as to catch you at Pasadena. I am keenly looking forward to having a
talk with you and other people in your part, and I shall be very disappointed if you
happen to be away. However, it looks now as though I shall be in California probably
towards the end of May. I am arriving in New York on the 11th April and as soon as
I have fixed my plans more clearly I will get in touch with you again as soon as possible.
I have already heard from Sponsler and one or two other people in California, and
I am quite sure that my visit there will prove both interesting and pleasant.
Yours sincerely,
Professor Linus Pauling, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, "J. Z .
