Letter from Edward Barrett to Linus Pauling. May 4, 1937.
Barrett writes to offically inform Pauling that he has been appointed chairman of
the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and Director of the Chemical Laboratories

This letter will constitute official notice that at a meeting of the Executive Council
of the Institute, held May 3. 1937, you were appointed Chairman of the Division of
Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and Director of the Chemical Laboratories.
