Dear Professor Compton:

I am very glad to accept the appointment as Visiting Lecturer in the Departments of Physics and Chemistry at M.I.T. for the months of April and May, 1921. I am writing to Professor Slater regarding the Lectures.

I hope that Mrs. Pauling will come to Cambridge also. She and I send greetings to you and Mrs. Compton. I am looking forward keenly to spending the spring with you and the remarkable group of men you have gathered about you.
