However I am enclosing for your use a check that is small in itself, yet more than I have given to any other cause. If you fall short of the goal call on me again. I enclose also some extra names you may not have. This impersonal help is all I can do now. The individual touch of personal conversation I cannot give. For one thing I know so little how to present the case. For another thing, I am so disgusted with 99 44/100% of the people I know who care only for to-day's slop and pleasant mud-hole to wallow in, that I would only antagonize them if I spoke. I hope I will improve. To you, again, my thanks and best wishes, Selma Henley I am sorry this letter is not neater. I am just teaching myself to type.
