In this interview, Petersen discusses his upbringing in Pendleton, Oregon, his experiences as an OSU undergraduate studying history and sociology, and his career as a student employee and faculty member in the OSU Libraries. Major subjects of this interview include institutional change at OSU, the history of Special Collections and the Pauling Papers at OSU Libraries, and the history of the Oral History Program within SCARC. Petersen also comments on colleagues who have made a major impact on his work and shares his dreams for OSU Libraries and Oregon State University.
Chris Petersen (b. 1976) is a Senior Faculty Research Assistant in the Special Collections and Archives Research Center at OSU Libraries. He graduated from OSU in 1999 with bachelor's degrees in History and Sociology. He is also the lead editor of The Pauling Catalogue, the founder, editor and publisher of The Pauling Blog, and the director of the OSU Sesquicentennial Oral History Project.
