Black and white photograph of Francois Archibald Gilfillan in a Russian language class. Gilfillan introduced OSC's foreign language curriculum in the early 1940s, and it was taught as part of the Army Specialized Training Program curriculum during World War II. Gilfillan served as acting president of Oregon State College from 1941-1942.
