Abstract

The Agricultural Chemistry Department Photographs consist of slides detailing research on radioactivity and isotopes in plants as prepared by faculty and staff in the Agricultural Chemistry Department for teaching use. The collection also depicts Virgil Freed demonstrating his research in agricultural chemistry.

Scope and Content Notes

Certain of the collection's photographs show Virgil Freed and his research in agricultural chemistry, primarily pesticide use. Formats include black and white prints; black and white camera negatives (35-mm, 120, and 4x5) and contact sheets; color slides; and color prints. Subjects include research equipment and laboratories; conferences, lectures, and demonstrations; and spraying equipment including a spray plane. Individuals shown include Virgil Freed; Roy A. Young; Hernan Lopez; and Kenneth J. Munford.

The collection also includes a black and white print of J.P. (Joseph Parke) Mehlig and President Robert MacVicar at the OSU commencement, ca. 1975.
