Abstract

The Poultry Science Department Records contain documents pertaining to Oregon Agricultural College's involvement in the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, the Poultry Extension and Training Subproject and the Poultry Industry Advisory Committee. The records consist of reports, certificates, proposals and correspondence. The collection also contains records pertaining to the general activities of the Poultry Science Department.

Scope and Content Notes

Accession 1990:014 includes building plans and specifications for Dryden Hall, floor plans for turkey and other brooder houses, and contour maps of the South Farm.

Accession 1993:041 primarily documents the Yemen Project [Poultry Extension and Training Subproject (PETS)] including administrative records, correspondence, proposals, and reports. It also includes three items of other Poultry Science Department records pertaining to extension and training.

Accession 1998:038 consists primarily of records pertaining to the Poultry Extension and Training Subproject (PETS) in Yemen including reports, proposals, publications, memoranda and correspondence, daily logs created by the project leader, Telexes, work plans and projects records, and budgets and financial records. The accession also includes records pertaining to the campus-based instruction and extension functions of the department.

Accession 1998:075 contains the records of the Poultry Industry Advisory Committee to the Poultry Science Department and includes minutes, agendas and correspondence as well as general departmental correspondence.

Accession 1999:072 is made up of Poultry Science Department records and include feed rations records, publications, reports, student papers and theses and faculty biographical files.

Accession 2004:081 consists of various issues of the American Poultry Historical Society newsletter.

Accession 2009:062 contains a certificate awarded to Oregon Agricultural State College for its exhibit on poultry production at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. The framed certificate represents the gold medal level of honors for the exposition, which commemorated the opening of the Panama Canal.
