The collection consists of photographs documenting the Army ROTC Program and numbering about 2,000 images in total (800 prints, 700 negatives, 500 slides); it also includes three photograph albums. In addition to portrait and group shots of various Army ROTC cadets and officers, the collection's images also depict cadet reviews and formations, military tournaments on campus, classroom instruction, training exercises, field training at the Ranger Challenge course, dances and other social activities, parades, rifle team competition, commissioning ceremonies, and the Army Sponsor Corps. The collection's slides were primarily generated in support of instructional and recruitment presentations.
An addition to the Army ROTC Photographs (Accession 2012:071) consists of images taken by Army ROTC staff/students depicting cadets engaged in training exercises, joint service reviews, commissioning ceremonies, field trips, marching in parades, and informational tables/displays. In addition to various locations on campus, the images show training exercises and gatherings at Army ROTC training camps at Fort Knox, Camp Rilea, and the Western Oregon University campus. Most of the images are part of photograph albums (11 in total) with 83 loose prints and 1 cd.
A second addition to the Army ROTC Photographs (Accession 2013:005) consists of composite photographs of portrait shots depicting Army ROTC students and staff from 1985 to 2007.
A third addition to the Army ROTC Photographs (Accession 2014:114) is made up of composite photographs of portrait shots depicting Army ROTC students and staff for the years 2008 and 2009.
