Abstract

The Home Economics Extension Photographs collection primarily consists of images relating to an exhibit celebrating the seventy-fifth anniversary of the establishment of the OSU Home Economics Extension Service.

Images from this collection have been digitized and are available in Oregon Digital.

Scope and Content Notes

The collection includes photographs related to a series of workshops, "Sewing as a Business," developed by the Extension Service. It also includes images of three students: Barbara Blancher, Agnes Moll, and Julianne Wise. The photographs of the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of the OSU Home Economics Extension Service include images depicting the exhibit and of a student moving food from boiling water.

The exhibit documented in this collection was first displayed at the 1986 Oregon State Fair. Other materials were left over from an exhibit displayed at a 50th Jubilee Reunion celebration for the class of 1951.

The collection also includes photographic images of students, teachers, and courses conducted at the OSU Mini-College, Numbering approximitely 491 images, the formats include: B/W and color prints, slides, 35 mm B/W and color negatives, and B/W contact sheets.
