Abstract

The Ted Carlson Collection consists of materials pertaining to the film "This is Oregon State," as well as photographs, a sound recording, publications and memorabilia.

Scope and Content Notes

This collection includes materials related to the "This is Oregon State" motion picture film produced in the late 1950s, a television program produced as part of the Colleges for Oregon's Future effort in the late 1960s, and radio spots about OSU aired during football games during the 1960s. It also includes photographs of Governor Tom McCall teaching a journalism class, a sound recording of an interview with Edward C. Allworth and various alumni publications and memorabilia.

Biographical / Historical Notes

Carlson graduated from OSC in 1950 with a BS in General Science. From 1952 to 1963, he served as Assistant Alumni Director and Editor of the "Oregon Stater." From 1963 until his retirement in 1990, he held a joint appointment with OSU's Department of Information and Journalism Department.
