Series 1: Administration, 1993-2016 Add to Shelf

This series, organized alphabetically then chronologically, includes documents detailing MEChA's administrative activities organized by year, often based on the academic year calendar. Materials in the folders titled “Administrative Records” were originally binders of documents created each academic year by MEChA members and include correspondence, meeting agendas, notes, and minutes, as well as some financial documents. Additionally, this series includes various foundational and constitutional documents for MEChA on the chapter, regional, and national levels. Also included are awards and certificates presented to OSU MEChA or its members, as well as various documents relating to day-to-day office management such as inventory sheets and various forms.

Series 3: Community Engagement, 1994-2017 Add to Shelf

This series, organized alphabetically by topic, includes materials relating to community engagement efforts organized by or attended by OSU MEChA. Included are documents relating to the planning and implementation of events and activities which took place as part of Chican@ Month and Chican@ Night, as well as various tours including the Chicanit@ Tours, which focused on outreach to high school and middle school students. Also included are materials pertaining to various regional and national conferences. Note the use of variations on spellings of terms, such as Chican@, Chicano, Chicanx, and Xican@, which reflect the variations used by MEChA. Also included are posters, predominantly of events hosted by OSU MEChA, housed in an oversized (16x20 inch) box. The materials are organized alphabetically by topic, and then, when applicable, chronologically. The primary focus of the materials in this series pertain to MEChA's work internal to the university but open to the broader community compared to the materials included in Series 5: Community Advocacy and Education which primarily consist of documents pertaining to MEChA’s advocacy and activism within and for the broader Latino/a and Chicano/a community.

Series 4: 2004 MEChA National Conference, 2003-2004 Add to Shelf

This series, organized alphabetically by topic, includes materials pertaining to the planning and implementation of the 2004 MEChA National Conference which was hosted by OSU MEChA in Corvallis, Oregon. Included are financial documents such as receipts, budgets and budget proposals, as well as payment and purchase requests. Also included are materials related to workshops proposed and eventually implemented at the conference. The series also includes materials relating to the reservations and use of various campus spaces such as the Memorial Union and Gill Coliseum, as well as various classrooms. Of note are materials from the conference itself, such as Unity Statements signed by the various schools in attendance, as well as daily schedules and itineraries.

This series, organized alphabetically by topic, consist of documents relating to OSU MEChA’s advocacy and activism within the Latino/a and Chicano/a communities and the chapter’s commitment to education and awareness on issues effecting Latino/a and Chicano/a communities. This series includes, but is not limited to, materials related to specific topics of interest to MEChA such as immigration, voting, and farmworker rights; the history, manifesto, and constitution of MEChA; various resources for Latino/a and Chicano/a students and community members; newspapers and clippings; and outreach with other MEChA chapters.
