The Graduate Catalogs document graduate programs at Oregon State University and provide guidance to graduate students and graduate faculty regarding academic regulations as well as department and degree requirements. These catalogs include an introduction to graduate study and the Graduate School at Oregon State; descriptions of graduate degree options at the master’s and doctoral level; an overview of academic disciplines and departments in which graduate degrees are offered; and lists of graduate courses by department. Short descriptions of research centers and facilities at Oregon State and the services available to graduate student (including those offered by the Library) are published in the Graduate Catalogs. The academic calendar as well as tuition and fees are provided for each year. Information about graduate teaching and research assistantships, scholarships, and fellowships is available in the catalogs. The names of Graduate School administrators, members of the Graduate Council and the Graduate Committees in academic units (schools and colleges), and graduate faculty are listed in the Catalog.
Through the 1980-1981 edition, the catalog was titled Graduate School Bulletin; Graduate Catalog became the publication title with the 1981-1982 edition. Both the Graduate School Bulletin and Graduate Catalog were published as part of the Oregon State University Bulletin series. The first graduate catalog was published for 1961-1963 and had been preceded by informal announcements and bulletins published in the mid-late 1950s. The Graduate Catalog ceased publication with the edition for 2003-2004. Issues of the Graduate Catalog that are not part of this collection are available as part of the Oregon State University Bulletins in the History of Oregon State University (HistOSU) book collection with the call number LD 4337 .A22.
