Abstract

The William E. Sandine Papers consist of materials generated and collected by Sandine, a Microbiology Professor. Included among the records are correspondence, newspaper clippings, and various materials (vitae, letters of recommendation, publications) documenting various awards for which Sandine was nominated.

Biographical / Historical Notes

Receiving his Ph.D. in Microbiology at OSU in 1958, William Sandine started teaching coursework in food and dairy microbiology in 1961. Specializing in the study of dairy starter cultures and bacteriophages, Sandine received a number of awards and distinctions, including the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Award. Sandine became Professor Emeritus in 2000.
