The Bill R. Rogers Papers consist of wide array of materials pertaining to Rogers' work as a Lincoln County Extension Agent.
This collection contains digital files generated from 1997 to 2003, including different parts of a Forestry Field Day Manual. These files have not been transfered to an accessible format and are not immediately available for patron use. Please see SCARC's "Accessing Audio-Visual Content" for more information.
This collection includes records primarily reflecting Rogers' research activities and participation in groups such as the Oregon Small Woodlands Association, the Lincoln County Livestock Association and 4-H. Materials types held in the collection are brochures, correspondence, meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, press releases, radio announcement scripts, publications, two videotapes, reports, research notes, studies, and survey materials. Included among the publications are copies of the Lincoln County Master Gardener newsletter, which feature a weekly column by Rogers on horticultural and agricultural topics.
The materials also document Rogers' work with the Extension Service in the organization of workshops and conferences, the research and publication of articles, and his professional involvement with the Extension Agent community. Organizations other than the OSU Extension Service represented in these records include the 4-H Center Advisory Committee and the OSU Extension Association. Also included among these records are six zipdisks of files downloaded from Rogers' computer of various documents generated from 1997 to 2003. Four of the disks contain different parts of a Forestry Field Day Manual.
Likewise included in this collection are records documenting Rogers' planning of workshops and tours, assistance in the development of Mike Miller Park, and research into various agricultural and silvicultural topics, as well as a list of workshops and other presentations made by Rogers covering the years 1980 to 1987. The footage on the collection's two videotapes was shot as a part of film on the cultivation of shiitake mushrooms. Scripted and introduced by Rogers (and filmed in his backyard), the film is narrated by Botany and Plant Pathology Professor Bill Denison.
