The Committee on High School Relations Records document the activities to provide information to and recruit Oregon high school students for attendance at Oregon State System of Higher Education institutions. The records include correspondence, statistics, annual reports, and related materials.

The Committee on High School Relations Records document the administration and activities of this Oregon State System of Higher Education (OSSHE) committee to provide information to high school students about higher education opportunities in Oregon, primarily through high school visits and conferences for high school seniors. The records include correspondence, statistics, annual reports, and related materials.

The Committee on High School Relations was formed in 1934 in response to confusion among high school students in Oregon about academic and degree programs at the Oregon State System of Higher Education (OSSHE) institutions after the formation of OSSHE and reorganization of higher education in Oregon in the early 1930s. E.B. Lemon, Oregon State College Registrar, was chair of the committee and D.V. Poling was the High School Visitor for the OSSHE during the 1930s and 1940s.

The Committee coordinated and administered contacts between the OSSHE institutions and high schools and the recruitment of high school students through visits to Oregon high schools, regional conferences, and the offering of state scholarships.

Acquisition Note: The bulk of the records were acquired by the Archives in the mid-1960s. A volume of annual reports was transferred from the Registrar's Office in 1993.
