Abstract

The Oregon State Highway Division Maps of Oregon Cities and Towns consist of street maps of 230 municipalities in Oregon primarily from the 1970s and 1980s. The maps depict streets and roads, political boundaries, public structures, and some landscape features.

Scope and Content Notes

The Oregon State Highway Division Maps of Oregon Cities and Towns consist of maps of 230 Oregon cities and towns created between 1969 and 1989. Most of the maps are at a scale of 1 inch = 800 feet; the maps of larger towns and cities are at a smaller scale of 1 inch = 2000 feet. The maps include details such as city limits, road systems, post offices, schools, public buildings, court houses, and some notable land features. The population of the town or city is given on each map. The maps were produced in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration.

Acquisition Note: The collection was transferred from the Oregon State University Libraries' maps collection to the Special Collections & Archives Research Center in 2013.

The Highway Maps of Oregon Counties (MAPS Highway) consist of maps of all 36 Oregon counties in the 1960s and 1970s.
