Abstract

The Heart of the Valley Homebrewers Records are comprised of a wide variety of materials that document the club's activities and outreach. The Heart of the Valley Homebrewers club was founded in Corvallis, Oregon in 1982.

The Heart of the Valley Homebrewers Records are comprised of a wide variety of materials that document the club's activities and outreach. The items in this collection include forms, bylaws, correspondence, flyers, meeting minutes, membership lists, newsletters, newspaper clippings, recipes, and brewsheets. In addition to documenting beers made by Heart of the Valley Homebrewers (HOTV) members, the records document annual events organized by the club, beer judging certification, and the involvement of club members in the American Homebrewers Association. The collection's newsletters represent the HOTV and other local homebrew clubs, including the Capitol Brewers (Salem), the Marys Peak Lagers, and the Cascade Brewer's Society (Springfield).

Biographical / Historical Notes

Formed in 1982 in Corvallis, Oregon, the Heart of the Valley Homebrewers (HOTV) is a nonprofit organization of homebrewing enthusiasts devoted to raising money for scholarships and other charitable groups. HOTV is a registered homebrew club operating under the guidelines of the American Homebrewers Association. In addition to hosting the annual Oregon Homebrew Festival - the Pacific Northwest's oldest homebrew competition - HOTV also organizes the annual SeptembeerFest event, which serves as a fundraiser for local charities.

The Heart of the Valley Homebrewers Records are complemented by several other collections.
