Certificate with gold foil seal in lower left corner and Tau Beta Pi insignia near top center. Text: "Tau Beta Pi Alpha of Oregon. Be it known that having maintained a rank in scholarship in the first fouth of his class during his collegiate course at Oregon State College and having been duly elected by the above chapter Linus Carl Pauling of the class of 1922 is hereby declared and certified as a member of (Tau Beta Pi in Greek letters) and is granted all the honors, insignia and privileges of that association. Given at Corvallis, Oregon this sixth day of December, AD 1928, and of the association the forty-fourth." Followed by four signatures.
