I understand that the purpose of your committee is to launch a campaign of education that will arouse the country to the imminent danger of atomic warfare and to the need of world-wide control. June 2, 1947, I will have a chance to help your campaign as I have been chosen to deliver a speech on this subject at my high school graduation exrcises. These ceremonies usually attract about a thousand or more people, and I will have a great opportunity to help inform the public on this vital subject. My purpose in writing you is to ask your help and advice, as I know that you have long experience in talking on this subject and that you are interested in advancing the knowledge of the American people. If you have any information or advice that would aid me in preparing my speech, I would sincerely appreciate it if you would send it to me as soon as possible.
